eBitcoin? The Potential New Kid From The Block?
As the general world's population still can't seem to fathom at the rising wrath of Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency world has been fighting its very own wars around Bitcoin.
It has long been know about the advantages of Bitcoin. Normal day to day transactions of banking organizations demand important, sensitive pieces of information from you. But because Bitcoin is entirely decentralized, you need trust no one when using it. When you send a transaction, it is digitally signed, and secure. An unknown miner will verify it, and then the transaction is completed. Anonymous, secured and some what seemingly risk free.
As of 2017, it is believed that less than 10 percent of the world's entire population has tapped or been on the bandwagon of cryptocurrency and that number undoubtedly to increase in the years to come.
Then comes the disadvantages of Bitcoin. With increasing use of Bitcoin, Bitcoin looses its traction in daily transaction as fees have become seemingly uneconomical, and the verification time needed to complete a transaction interminable. And a solution to this is undeniably, hard forks.
Bitcoin now moves one megabyte per block, and hard forks like Bitcoin cash did eight. This ultimately solves the problem, but forks unseemly often causes communities to be divided and weary of the true benefits of the forks. As the divided community debates over the adoption of such forks, a new kid named eBTC emerged. eBTC was originally created to combine the best characteristics of both Bitcoin and Ethereum together in a tokenized form. The difference between having eBTC running on Ethereum is that Bitcoin’s average block time is about 10 minutes, while Ethereum’s aims to be 12 seconds. This quick time is enabled by Ethereum’s GHOST protocol. A faster block time means that confirmations are quicker, the quicker the confirmation, the cheaper the cost.
eBitcoin started as an airdrop of 21 million coins that was distributed evenly to its community supporters and its developers made up of individuals from different parts of the world. Also labelled as the community's coin, eBitcoin relies and is backed by a supportive community that takes initiative for marketing efforts as well as raising funds for exchanges like "coinexchange.io", on top of the many exchanges like "HITBTC" that it has already been listed on.
The progress of eBitcoin is not to be undermined. In recent weeks, they too have established a partnership with "ProxyCard", a state-of-the-art, ready-to-work Hybrid Wallet which, when integration is completed, will boast a very user-friendly interface that will allow eBitcoin community holders to easily and securely send, receive, and store their eBTC tokens. eBitcoin’s roadmap streamlines social action through enthusiastic community participation to achieve steady evolution of its global adoption. They are currently working on eBTC use-cases and solutions and have plans to start the development of android, web and hybrid wallets next year, one of the core team members commented. Global awareness and marketing, merchant integration, online portals & payment solutions for Magento, Shopify, 3d Cart & Miva among others and major exchanges are also in the pipeline, further added the team member.
It is hard to take in what EBTC has achieved and established a some what foothold in the crypto world with no fundings, only a handful of committed developers and a community of loyal supporters. In conclusion, it is hard to justify where this fully community and volunteers backed project that is a outright faster and cheaper alternative compared to Bitcoin will be in the near future, but one thing is definite. eBitcoin is certainly causing up a required buzz in this if not Bitcoin dictated market and more detailed write-ups can be found here.
