I'm a huge advocate of cryptocurrencies but it has always seemed to me rather odd that these futuristic technologies are so ancient in respect of the fact that they damage the environment like this. Why not invent a crypto that is more forward-thinking and eco-friendly?
You can have a look at Gridcoin , the power is used to do math operations for some really helpfull projects.
