Yes I read 4 days ago that Forbes is said to have obtained information confirming that the FSA in Japan has taken "all available steps" in recent weeks to stop the use of anonymous cryptocurrencies, notably Monero, Zcash and Dash.
Although the FSA can not immediately prohibit the currencies, as the regulator of cryptocurrency exchanges, it has sole authority to issue licenses for the operation of an exchange or to suspend operations through license revocation. Should there be requirements prohibiting exchanges from offering anonymous cryptocurrencies for trading, this could severely curtail the ecosystem.
