Why Genesis mining is not profitable in my opinion
I quitted upgrading with Genesis Mining for at least a month, since I made a calculation that indicates that you will not make any profit with Genesis mining (X11 DASH). For me as a Vlogger it can be profitable since I get a lot of referrals, but if you do not receive any referrals there is no way that you can make any profit, based on the calculation that I made of DASH.
Maybe I am wrong, but then please proof me that I am wrong, but only if you are a Genesis Mining user that does NOT receive any referrals.
Also please be aware that if you are going to tell me that you do not have any referrals but you do upgrade on a daily, weekly, monthly upgrade, I have a calculation ready to show you might not get your ROI back, even though you are trying to keep up with the difficulty.
And yes, I understand that people that are not using Genesis mining will tell me now: "See I told you so". And that is fair enough, however I rather have a constructive comment with proof from a user that is actually using Genesis mining to do a fair comparison.
So based on my calculations, it is better to buy DASH then to mine DASH via Genesis Mining
I also tweeted to Genesis Mining to see if they are open to clarify this case. I am curious if they will respond.
I agree with you and their so called lifetime BTC contract is also sketchy. I've made a detailed analysis in this post if you're interested.
I wish I was in Genesis Mining to have results to compare with you.
Definitely interesting though!
By the way, with your calculations, did you assume there was a 24% monthly difficulty increase over the 2 year span of the contract, did you calculate upgrades with and without discounts, and did you do a ROI if you invest the minimum to overcome the monthly difficulty increase?
I calculated the average 24% monthly increase over 1 year by entering all daily difficulties and took the average of that of 1 month. No I did not calculate upgrades without any discounts. for the last case, yes I did one for that to (the minimum to keep up should be the 24% upgrade of hashpower to keep up)
