RE: Cryptocurrency will only achieve real adoption without the need of fiat conversion 加密货币的真正普及

Nice post. I think it will take years if not decades for mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies. The blockchain technology is not just useful as a currency or a store of value. Its main purpose is to provide a trustless platform to bridge service providers and consumers.

I think using blockchain technology as a platform is nearer to reality and if used correctly, it is capable of cutting out middlemen and disrupt industries where you need to trust a central party.

Just my 2 cents. Anyway, I have upvoted :)

Should be taking less time than what it took for the Internet to be mainstream, less than 10 years?

I think it might take longer for mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies. Reason is that, monetary /currency policy is one of the tools many central banks are using to control the economy. I do not see them giving it up so easily. The governments will only start to accept cryptocurrencies with proper regulations and it is going to take time.

On the other hand, I think that using blockchain as a platform for dApps will take off sooner than we expect. For example Steemit, it is gaining huge traction and is on its way to success. Current mainstream social media should be wary as it might potentially disrupt their business models.
