Yeah, I see this phase in crypto as a culling of bad weeds and unsteady hands. Like thankfully bitconnect died, tether might follow in the coming weeks, and there's at least more skepticism overall with regards to ICOs and whether new ones are scams. And yeah, it'll be interesting to see where we'll be by the end of 2018.
Oh man, don't mention Bitconnect, that video of that guy pops into my head every time.. Haha, it's hilarious. :p
Oh yes every big drop is definitely a cull. :) I just feel sorry for the people that buy at ATH and then a drop like this cuts their investment in half and they chicken out. Sure it's being safe, but if you drop out you can't have much faith in crypto as a technology or an investment. Go back to your daytime job flipping burgers ;)
I have heard about that Tether drama, I have heard predictions of BTC dropping to 1k, I think that's a bit silly though. There's no way people won't be snapping it up before that which would keep the price up.
