Crypto Regulations Coming To Russia By July 2019

According to news outlets online, the president of Russia has issued another deadline for the government to adopt regulations for the digital assets industry.

This was revealed via a document published on the official page of the President of Russia, Kremlin.ru last February 27, 2019.

The documents revealed that the Russian president instructed the government to enforce crypto-related regulations by July 1, 2019.

President Putin required the Council of the Federation of Russia and the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia (Russian State Duma) to adopt regulations during the spring session of 2019.

The documents demand federal legislation that aims to develop the digital economy and regulation of civil-law digital settlements.

It entails the introduction of a regulatory framework for digital financial assets.

The published documents echoes the president’s statement in 2018 ordering the government to set up regulations for the trade of Bitcoin (BTC) and other digital assets, initial coin offerings (ICOs) and crypto mining by July 2018.

However this was pushed back due to some revisions in the terminologies used in the bills proposed for the regulations of the nascent industry.

Basic Attention Token Now Redeemable At Over 250,000 Brands

It has been reported that Brave users can now redeem Basic Attention Token for real-world rewards from over 250,000 brands around the world.

These brands include Amazon, Apple, Starbucks, and Uber.

This was made possible through its partnership with a blockchain based digital advertising platform Tap network.

Brave is a internet browser that is primarily focused on the privacy of its users.

The browser also leverages Basic Attention Token (BAT) to incentivize ways users interact with ads.

Tap network is an advertising and data platform that has been enhanced with blockchain technology which enables consumers to control their data and preserve their privacy.

This gives BAT holders the ability to redeem tokens for gift cards from Amazon, Apple, Uber, Starbucks and other recognized brands.

Brave is looking to partner with other ad networks to expand it rewards offerings and also looks to roll the feature out to mobile platforms by the end of 2019.

According to reports it is working to integrate with BuySellAds, AirSwap, Fluidity, ConsenSys and Uphold into its Brave Ads Catalog.

UK-Based Payment Processor Allows Cryto-To-Fiat Payments

A crypto payments platform in the UK is launching a payment service that will allow users to send and spend digital coins to merchants that does not traditionally accepts cryptocurrencies.

This is done by converting the cryptocurrencies immediately before sending them to the bank account of the recipient of the payment.

Aave Pay is an online platform that can be used with cryptocurrencies where regular bank transfers are accepted.

Users of the new platform will be able to use cryptocurrencies to send money as well as to pay utility bills.

This can also be utilized by businesses who want to pay their employees with cryptocurrencies.

According to Its CEO, Stani Kulechov, the new application eliminates the obstacles of using crypto in our daily lives, it addresses the spendability problem of cryptocurrencies and allows crypto for mainstream use.

The site supports 12 cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Cardano, Ripple, Monero, Litecoin, Zcash, Stellar Lumen, Dash, Dai, and Lend.

It supports 6 fiat currencies such as Euro, US dollar, British Pounds, Swiss Franc, Australian dollar and Indian Rupee.

Tron Ranks No.2 In Chinese Ranking Dethroning Ethereum

On its debut in the Ministry of Industry and Technology Development China’s ranking Tron dethrones Ethereum to take the second place of the Rank listing.

The criteria of the ranking include applicability, creativity and basic technology ability of 35 digital assets.

This was the second update of the ranking this year with Tron is the only addition to the list.

The only cryptocurrency project that Tron was not able to topple is EOS which has been the number 1 project for several months now.

According to the Chinese analyst at CCID Tron has high-level reliability and coverage despite its age which has been operating only for less than a year. Tron is compatible with Ethereum smart contracts and hosts more than 200 decentralized applications.

The top five included in the list are EOS, TRON, Bitshares, GXChain and Nano.

It is interesting if TRON can keep its momentum going forward to the next evaluation.

Only time will tell if Tron will be able to seize the top spot from EOS.

Facebook Talking With Exchanges For Their Crypto According To New York Times

An article published by the New York Times reveals of a very secretive project by Facebook who hopes to start its foray into the blockchain space soon.

According to the article, multiple anonymous sources have claimed that social media giant Facebook plans to integrate cryptocurrency payments into its messaging services.

It seems that Facebook is planning to rehaul its messaging infrastructure and integrate its three wholly-owned apps WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram into one payment platform.

This initiative would provide a future crypto token an exposure across the combined applications of over 2.7 billion monthly users.

This project could be a formidable competition to Korea’s Kakao, Japan’s Line and Russian developed Telegram.

It has also been revealed that the new cryptocurrency will perhaps be a fiat-pegged stablecoin that is tied three different national fiat currencies.

Interestingly some sources are saying that Facebook is already talking with cryptocurrency exchanges to list its coin.
