Coinbase Now Supports Paypal Withdrawals For EU

According to news reports, the cryptocurrency exchange giant from the U.S., Coinbase has now activated for support for Paypal withdrawals in Europe.

The exchange initially offered this feature for U.S. citizens and now citizens from Europe as well as those living in European Free Trade Association countries such as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.

This is not the first time Coinbase integrated with Paypal.

Back in 2016, it made the same initiative but had to stop the feature die due to technical difficulties.

Prior to the support of Paypal, European citizens and members of the European Free Trade Association has relied on SEPA wire transfers to withdraw their funds.

Coinbase is actively diversifying their support and fiat gateways to provide more options to its customers.

This comes at a time when the exchange is exploring to expand its listed assets to over 30 cryptocurrencies in as many jurisdictions as regulatory authorities allow.

Turbo Tax Now Supports Cryptocurrencies

Turbo Tax is one of the most widely used tax filing platform in the U.S.

Due to the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies, the software company will now be supported by the platform.

This was made possible through a partnership with Coin Tax, the operator of crypto tax calculator Bitcoin Taxes.

This feature will be available to customers who bought the 2018 version of Turbo Tax Premier and above versions.

Coin Tax announced that Bitcoin Taxes now has a report functionality that enables users to import their cryptocurrency capital gains into Turbo Tax Online.

With this new feature, the company hopes that users will be able to save a whole lot of time in tax preparation by allowing them to upload their transactions directly into form 1040 Schedule D.

Bitcoin Taxes is one of the earliest taxation tools available for cryptocurrency investors.

This enables users to import data from their trading activities throughout the year.

Currently the online platform supports Coinbase, Gemini and Poloniex.

British dependency Isle Of Man Forms Global Blockchain Office

According to Lyle Wraxall, CEO of Digital Isle of Man (IoM), the territory initiated the formation of a blockchain office as a venue to provide a favorable environment for the development of blockchain projects.

Aside from this initiative the governing body also initiated the creation of IoM blockchain Sandbox.

The IoM blockchain Sandbox will guide blockchain businesses through the existing and future regulatory frameworks in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Blockchain related businesses will be able to join the Sandbox from March 2019 and will be fully operational in Spring.

It seems that the Island wants to attract blockchain businesses to its territory similar to what Malta did in the past.

Through the creation of a conducive regulatory environment, the small island state was able to attract major exchanges and other businesses in the island, IoM plans to do the same.

Forbes List Half As Many Blockchain Companies In Its 2019 Fintech 50

The Forbes 2019 Fintech 50 is a list of the world’s top financial technology firms.

The list was published in February 4, 2019 with one notable change - it has half as much blockchain companies on the list compared to last year’s.

Writers of the said article noted that while crypto prices and ICOs collapsed, overall investment in fintech surged in 2018.

It also says that 20 of the startups included in the list are being listed for the first time.

The first cryptocurrency on the list was interestingly categorized in the Wall Street Category instead of Crypto and Blockchain Category.

According to Forbes Axioni uses blockchain-based smart contracts to overhaul the back office of the world’s biggest derivative markets.

This is followed by Bitfury the largest non-Chinese company that specializes in the development Bitcoin blockchain software.

The list also includes other companies that were included last year like Circle, Coinbase, Gemini and Ripple.

One interesting company that was listed under the crypto and blockchain category is Robinhood which offers its users zero-fees exchange of assets including cryptocurrencies.

Ripple One Of The Most Innovative Fintech Companies in 2019

It has been reported that Ripple was cited by Forbes magazine as one of the most innovative Fintech companies in 2019.

Included in the list are six other blockchain companies that will now start competing in mainstream finance against long-established players like Swift which has for the longest time have been the primary network used by banks for cross-border settlements.

2018 was a great year for Ripple in terms of partnerships and on-boarding institutional users for their platform.

They are fast becoming the blockchain alternative to Swift.

It is backed by well known venture capital like Andreesen Horowitz, CME Ventures, Google Ventures, Santander InnoVentures and SBI Group.

According to Forbes, Ripple is a blockchain based global settlements network that aims to replace SWIFT.

Currently it has over 200 RippleNet Customers, including Bank of America and American Express.

This is not the first time Ripple received the honor of being included in the Forbes list aside from the many accolades it has accumulated throughout the years.
