ASUS Unveiled a Motherboard of 19-slot Graphics Card - Mining Cryptocurrency
ASUS announced a new motherboard for ASUS B250 Mining Expert. Asus reported on a new motherboard with features specifically designed for crypto-currency miners. The board, called B250 Mining Expert, was presented at the weekend by Asus Republic of Gamers, the Taiwanese manufacturer of high-end gaming devices.

And although the release date and the price of the product are still unknown, this indicates that the computer industry began to pay attention to the production of equipment for crypto-currency mining. Previously, Asus began to develop the production of graphics processors, designed specifically to meet the needs of crypto-currency miners, whose goal is to take full advantage of the digital "gold rush".
The uniqueness of the board is that it is equipped with 19 PCIe slots. Of these, 18 slots are x1 connectors, they are arranged three in a row. Each slot is equipped with additional capacitors to stabilize the power supply, and each of the three groups of slots has its own additional four-pin power connector. The motherboard B250 Mining Expert itself has a total of 19 PCI-Express expansion slots, compared to 12, 8 or 6 slots provided by the competitors.

The idea is that the crypto-currency majors that use the processing power (and a lot of electricity) to add new transactions to the block system receive a coin as a reward, and they need as many video cards as possible. The new board, according to specifications, has a capacity of about 2-3 motherboards of the usual size.
There are three 24-pin ATX power connectors on the board, and the design itself is designed to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operation. The 19 expansion slots are divided into three groups, each of which contains 24 dedicated contacts. This allows you to connect the mining equipment to three power supplies, which stabilizes the installation with a large number of GPUs. The board also has many functions that the miners like, for example, visual statistics.
Also, ASUS B250 Mining Expert has a special BIOS with diagnostic tools: even when the system is turned on, it shows which slots are occupied and which video cards are functioning normally. In the rest, it's a fairly common solution based on B250 chipset with LGA 1151 connector supporting Skylake and Kaby Lake processors. Two DIMM slots limit the amount of possible RAM to 32 GB. The cost of new items is still unknown.
As previously reported, other major manufacturers of graphics processors, such as Nvidia and AMD, in recent months have successfully benefited from the demand for products designed for mining. Recall, in early July, the Chinese company SUPoX released a motherboard for mining with 12 connectors for video cards.
