In this video, I discuss the topic of Airdrops in regards to cryptocurrency. Airdrops are a common thing but when it comes to cryptocurrency, they’re a little bit different than normal airdrops.
In terms of cryptocurrency, Airdrops are when a blockchain project takes their coins or tokens and releases them out to give away at no cost. Now there are several reasons a project would do an airdrop and it usually falls within two categories.
The first category is to reward customer loyalty. Established projects like to give back to their community so they’ll release an airdrop as a thank you so to speak.
The second category and the most common is for marketing and brand recognition. They will give away coins but in return, capture your information and ask you to perform a specific task.
