Verge, pornhub, and the shitcoin express.
As many in the cryptocurrency space know, Verge got a partnership with Pornhub... and then it dropped by 50% of it's value in less than a day. Verge, in my opinion, is a utter shit show of a coin.
The announcement came after Verge's developer asked for donations from his followers and investors. It was probably used to pay pornhub to accept the partnership. The main gist of the "partnership" is that pornhub now accepts verge through a third party payment operator... which doesn't even work. Verge's developer got around 6 million for development of this partnership. Paying pornhub 6 million dollars to support a payment protocol is an utterly obscene amount. But it's even more likely that most of this didn't go to pornhub and the developer is either using it for personal gain or for real development (we can't know for sure). But what we do know is the history of Verge, the crypto shit coin. The after math of the pornhub announcement plummeted the price.
And we have some further evidence of Verge being a terrible investment.
The "Wraith protocol" which tries to give Verge private transactions doesnt even work. So a "anonymous" cryptocurrency has partnered with pornhub and basically nothing works. Their privacy protocol is still shit, their payment process is also not working either.
AND they haven't cleaned up the past hack. We can even see from the block explorer that block times are near seconds rather than a thirty second time as Verge's black paper says they are "a 30-second block target block time." Which is no where near the current rate of a few blocks per second.
Then Verge's twitter has been hacked in the past.
Verge's protocols likely leaked IP addresses too.
And finally, verge was apparently blackmailed by their former "supporter" John Mcafee.
I have very little positive things to say about this coin. In fact, if they did pay pornhub for the "privilege" of being added to their platform as a payment... I will have just about lost all respect for that crypto - even though I had little to begin with. I'd urge people to not buy into this cryptocurrency. There's just far too many red flags. Every coin has red flags and weird shit that happens, that's just the nature of dealing with things ran by humans. But Verge has way more than normal. Stay away.
