The online wallet is no longer available so that the number of nxt nodes can increase. NXT is also a staking coin, they call it forging. The bigger the stake, the bigger the chance for you to generate the block. A block is created about every minute and follows a protocol algorithm to determine who creates the block.

Sold my NXT a few days ago when it topped 4k. I knew the whales would pull the plug and try to shake the tree. I started buying it back at 3200 and all the way down to 3056 doubling my previous position. BOOM. Some giant whale just took it back over 4k.
You gonna hold for the airdrop? You know its going to sink like a stone afterwards. Don't think i want to risk it. Maybe I'll buy IGNIS when everyone starts dumping it. If I do hold through the drop, it's only going to be NXT trading profits.
