A Blockchain to help clearing up the oceans
The Plastic Bank will enable exchanging of plastic for money, helping recycling ecosystems around the world and stops the flow of plastic into our oceans. It will also help people living in poverty to earn money.

I think it's an absolutely crucial issue. It's interesting - I think we are only just starting to see the value of blockchain technology in a range of different areas. At first, it was basically Bitcoin - but this and steemit and a range of other possibilities are starting to emerge. Great work, good post!

I seriously question whether this project needs its own blockchain (as opposed to deploying on an existing chain like BitShares), but the idea is definitely neat.
