NEO

Referred to as the “Chinese Ethereum”, but is NEO a sleeping giant? Many cryptocurrencies have shadowed Ethereum’s legacy but is NEO any different?

What is NEO?

The purpose of NEO is to swap commercial value in the real and virtual world in real time. Its the first decentralized, open source cryptocurrency in China. NEO is different because it allows developers to code in their preferred coding language. Several languages are currently supported and those are, C#, VB.Net, F#, Java, Kotlin, Python.

NEO’s Beginning

NEO launched in 2014 but it went by a different name and that is Antshares (ANS). It wasn’t mid to end of 2017 when ANS was rebranded as NEO. The rebrand was part of NEO’s developers effort to lead blockchain development in China and around the world.

NEO conducted a token sale in 2 phases with stage one starting in October 2015 which sold 17.5 million tokens. Phase 2 started in August 2016 and sold 22.5 million tokens. Both phases totaled 8,220 BTC and at the time was worth $5 million.

The Future for NEO

Partnerships with software giant Microsoft and Alibaba prove theres a good future for the coin. Microsoft announced active ongoing projects with NEO and plan on linking NEO to its Azure blockchain platform. NEO also has big plans to dominate China’s blockchain industry as currently its the only open source blockchain project in China.

Final Thoughts

NEO is rank 6 on coin market cap for a reason so its defiantly a coin to buy a few or at least keep an eye on it.

    Love NEO and I was looking for an opportunity to BUY and I guess I'll do it tomorrow morning. Some analysts are saying that this is the final retracement before a rise. Cheers
