If Bitcoin is the gold standard in the crypto world, then Litecoin is the silver. 2017 was a great year for crypto’s and Litecoin is an example to just how great last year was. January 1 2017, Litecoin was hovering around $4 and by the end of 2017 it was the price per coin was $227. If you invested just $100 into Litecoin at the beginning of 2017 and sold December 31st you would of had profited over $5000. Just let that sink in for a min.

What about 2018?

If 2017 proved to us that crypto is the future then 2018 is going to be no different. Not only does Litecoin have a much larger supply than Bitcoin, its transactions are much faster. Yeah there are coins that have transactions faster than Litecoin but they aren’t on every exchange and they aren’t listed on Coinbase or similar exchanges where crypto can be bought with fiat. Until that day Litecoin will have the upper hand. Now why is that important for 2018? Well I believe 2018 we will see an even larger number of people entering into the crypto world.

Price Increase = Volatility Increase

Crypto is naturally volatile but it is true that the more a coin’s price increases, the more volatile it is. Just take a look at Bitcoin, this month the price went from $17k to just under $10k in 10 days. Litecoin on the other hand is predicated not to have a large increase. Don’t take that as a bad thing because it means a more stable and reliable coin so when Litecoin is sent you don’t have to worry about the price dropping a few % and you losing 100’s of dollars before the transaction is complete. Below is a price prediction for Litecoin in 2018.

Final Thoughts

Just like Bitcoin, investing in Litecoin is a great thing. Yeah the price is predicted to not increase like Bitcoins price did but you never know in this crypto world. Also no one knew the price per Bitcoin was going to increase that much that quick so again who knows what could happen in 2018 and beyond but ones thing is for sure, I will be following in all the way to the moon.
