What is Cryptocurrency?

in #cryptocurrency9 years ago (edited)

To define "cryptocurrency," we should look at the compound nature of the word, breaking it into its root or base wordings: crypto and currency.  Because I love science, along with many other complex subjects, I tend to look at all things deeply in order to identify an organic meaning.  This helps me to remove much of the abstraction in complex terminologies.

The term "crypto," as it is used in the rapidly evolving economics of today, is derived from the word cryptography.  Cryptography is a technological science by which alogorithmic coding is used to code or key and covertly protect or hide data, such as information related to finance, health, property and anything of particular value and uniqueness. It is a technology that is continuously expanding and will drive our economies and everything else in society as we move into the developing technological paradigm.

"Currency"is a term related to the science of physics and electricity.  All currency moves or can move as does electrical currents and carries with it "power."  That is why things of monetary value are sought, gathered and hoarded, so as to amass power, because with power, one can "influence" the environment around themselves and others.  But such currents of electrical power must be protected from other forces and from theft.  That is why it must by cryptonized (my made up term) or cryptographically stored through a new monetary system of finance which is housed and publicly visible on a cryptocurrency ledger called the "blockchain."

I want to delve deeper into the above topics and paragraphs, but because this is a blog, I digress...for now, but will be sharing my thoughts on these topics throughout the life of this blog.  Peace.
