[CNBC] If You Own Bitcoin, Here's How Much You Owe In Taxes

Almost no one seems to pay, but whether you've used bitcoin as an investment or as a currency you owe taxes on it.

Sort:

So now Bitcoins not not a way or method for payment transaction or currency , the government decided to claim it as a properly just for taxes?

"Two things are certain in this world - death and taxes" as mr. Franklin said.

But lets consider two points:

  • do not have to( you have to but you may for own risk skip it) pay till you buy assets like cars and immovables
  • pay every income of bitcoin and be sure that noone gives a s...... especially government

That doesn't seem right, can you crunch the numbers again?

As a side note, does that mean that when a Hospital or other company had to pay ransomware they now have to pay taxes on top of that? weird world we live in.

What a weird thought to ask lol

You got me wondering if people who pay money to get a family member back from a hostage situation, is that taxed?

Can you send the hostage takers a 1099-MISC?
