How realistic is the vision of the Golem coin ?

I really like the idea of the golem supercomputer network. I'm a massive fan of BOINC, which I have contributed to it over many years. Golem will compete with BOINC in my opinion and to succeed the Golem client must be extremly stable and secure. My concern is always around security.

How do I know that the client is developed in a way that it won't access the host its running on ?

By just stating that it is opensoure and everyone can have look is not good enough. Maybe it should be audited by a security company to confirm the quality of the coding etc. Let's what the future brings
