They are trying to cash in technological innovation that was not theirs in the first place. I wonder if they can be litigated for stealing ideas that came essentially from cryptocurrency community andthe structures that enable them to do so. I guess credit now is given to those who can file the patent first rather than the people/community that created the intellectual property.
I believe patents are more to protect yourself or your company from other entities to steal your ideas, trademarks or materials.
In the case of a decentralized world, it is worthless, especially with open-source software like Bitcoin and Linux.
Yes indeed that is essentially its purpose. I am just surprised that sometimes the inventor of the intellectual property are not credited and left without benefit.
IBM is doing this. They try to write software on top of blockchain they can patent and sell. IBM is evil. Always has been
You said right, it's literally reflecting as the centralised ownership and in my opinion that's not good for the Crypto world because the core concept of Crypto world is decentralisation. Thanks for sharing this informative video with us. 🙂
