"THIRTY years from now [2018], Americans, Japanese, Europeans, and people in many other rich countries, and some relatively poor ones will probably be paying for their shopping with the same currency. Prices will be quoted not in dollars, yen or D-marks but in, let’s say, the phoenix. The phoenix will be favoured by companies and shoppers because it will be more convenient than today’s national currencies, which by then will seem a quaint cause of much disruption to economic life in the last twentieth century."

Sidenote: The 1988 Economist Magazine cover depicts a "Phoenix" being reborn from the ashes of a pile of the worlds current fiat currencies with an emblem around its neck with the year 2018 engraved on it with the headline "Get Ready For A World Currency".

Phoenix Mythology
In Greek mythology, a phoenix is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. According to some sources, the phoenix dies in a show of flames and combustion, although there are other sources that claim that the legendary bird dies and simply decomposes before being born again.

Well isn't it coincidence that as we lead up to 2018, that just recently Ethereum Classic launched a new logo depicting (the assumed to be dead) Ethereum Classic rising from the ashes in the form of a Phoenix.
