Is anyone on STEEM getting in on Kik's sale of the Kin token?
I have been writing a lot about the messaging app Kik's move into cryptocurrency with Kin.
If you don't know about Kik (because you're over 25), it's a super popular messaging app for young people (or, at least, it was). The Canadian company has unicorn status and I think it still has a decent number of users (people I know don't use it, but I am not exactly in the target market).
It's aiming to build itself out into a full platform and reward developers by building stuff people want to use by paying them in crypto. So it's creating a new ERC 20 based token.
The token sale goes live tomorrow, but if you didn't register for it you're already too late. I was just curious if anyone on here is planning to take part? The company has already raised $50 million before the sale even launches.
To me, this is a big deal because everyone with the Kik app is going to have a cryptocurrency wallet all the sudden, which is interesting. It's kinda forcing a wallet on people, but they don't have to use it.
Do folks think that it will be a big deal for Kik to turn its app into a wallet and start rewarding super-users with crypto?
I do not use Kik because I am old. lol
I have Kik because I want to know as soon as the wallet goes live. All my contacts on their are old dudes, which is kinda a bad sign for like... what they are doing on there

Its a crypto that Im assumes makes money on its own through kik and already has a built in userbase like omg. Wont parricipate in the ico but I have a feeling a couple weeks or months after its release Ill invest in some
I'm very curious if it still really has an active user base. I used to see it come up a lot as I reported around the web, but not so much lately. Still, if it becomes a more complex ecosystem after kin becomes a thing, lots of folks might maybe come back?
I'm interested, but out of spare money to invest and don't want to sell any of my other tokens while the markets are down. But Kik is pretty popular, and with all the hype going on in crypto lately, I'm pretty sure there's going to be a nice run.
Long term, I don't know wether the value and interest will hold.. I don't use Kik myself so I am out of touch with that community.
