Triton Tuesday Updates, 3/20/2018

Welcome to the third Triton Tuesday!
I can’t believe it’s already been three weeks since we officially launched the main net. As of this writing, we’ve mined more than 9,400 blocks in the chain with more than 22,000 transactions accounted for, while our Discord community (https://discord.gg/2KFsRE5) is up to 360 members. The Triton Team has been busy and we have a lot of exciting news this week, so let’s get to it.

Project Neptune
Project Neptune is the development of our proprietary streamer tipping platform, and it is going very well! With the front end established, we are looking at optimizations for that side while also working on some issues on the back end. We hope to release an Alpha Release of Project Neptune very soon. So far Krakn has worked on the following features:

Accepting payments
Processing payments
Login/registration
Twitch/Youtube/Steam account linking
Sending payments (Will be manually due to some issues)
Charts
Customize-able links for streamers
Easy donation front end
Roadmap
We are happy to say you can now find our published road map for the year on the Triton website. We have LOTS of great plans for 2018, including a ton of big developments coming up very soon.

Hashing algorithm and ASICs
With CryptoNight ASICs in production, we are anxiously waiting for Monero to implement and release the CryptoNight V7 hashing algorithm. This new algorithm is supposed to resist the new ASIC miners, and we will be looking for confirmation of that before we decide to switch to it. If it works as planned, we will announce a block height at which every user and pool will have to switch over to a newly released wallet and code base. Switching to the new wallet will be mandatory as it is the only way we can implement the new hashing algorithm. This will ensure ASICs do not ruin Triton for our GPU/CPU mining community!

Exchanges
We are in the voting stage on VICEX! Sign up here (https://acc.vicex.io/signup.php?invite=bde669be-31ed-41b7-9be5d191e17c) and vote for us to get listed! We are currently looking into other exchanges as well.

Streamers and sponsors
We are looking into contacting certain streamers to not only use the Triton currency and Neptune tipping platform, but also sponsor the brand in their streaming videos. We are also looking at upcoming eSports tournaments to advertise Triton and Neptune.

First use as payment
A community member will be accepting Triton as a payment for their VPS and web hosting service! More information on that soon 😀

Website revamp
The website (https://tritonproject.org/) has had a facelift. We streamlined the color scheme, added two new sections (What is Triton Project, and Neptune), completed the road map, and even acquired an SSL security certificate. There may even be another website in the works…

White Paper draft
Triton’s White Paper is still very much in draft, but progress is being made. It is currently five pages long and we feel like we have barely scratched the surface! If we had to put a number on it, we would say it is somewhere around 20% complete. The “What is Triton Project?” section of our website was actually created from an attempt at writing our mission statement for the white paper (the mission statement ended up being very different than that first draft)!

Expanded community outreach
Members of our community have asked for additional marketing efforts. We actually cross posted the original announcement thread on Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2944793.0) to nine other cryptocurrency forums, after making some adjustments to update it. Now that we have pretty good footprint on the crypto-specific forums, we are looking at eSports forums and other social outlets to target for exposure. Those accounts and threads should be created this week.

Bounties
We still have the graphic design bounty on Twitter going until March 31st! Create a graphic that relates our project with the Triton moon and tweet it to @ProjectTriton to enter for your chance at a piece of 3000 TRIT! We are considering several other possible bounties after that one concludes (and a huge contest soon), so keep checking back on all of our social outlets for more opportunities to get some Triton Coins.
