That's all it would take...a simple demand...our financial system would come to a standstill...
Now mind you....while I have a mind for business...and enjoyed the Keynesian economic theories I learned about back in my college days...this whole foreign exchange stuff gives me a headache...however...if its one thing I have learned in all my years on this planet...while I may not understand something...I do understand when something isn't right...
And so...while I don't understand all the technicalities of foreign currency interactions...debt loads...leverage...derivatives...etc...I do know that China is beginning to flex its muscle...
It is hitting us where it hurts most...our debt load...and why not?....we aren't paying it down...we keep adding to it...there's already a bunch of it out there...and someone has to keep buying it...
Up until now China has been one of the biggest buyers...it had to be...the world does a lot of transactions based on the "dollar"...which over the years became the main stay currency in order to interact among countries...kinda like bitcoin is to all the other coins...
But now....there's a new sheriff in town...actually more than one as Russia and the Middle East Countries are all starting to think outside the box...maybe its time for a new way of doing business...time to make the renminbi and ruble the new king of currencies...lets tie it into gold...like the world did up until the early 1970's when money was worth more than just the "Good Faith of the US Government"....
Shit...you mean no more bail out? You mean we actually have to pay it back? Even worse...we can't just run the printing press and whip up a bunch of dollar bills? We have to use the yuan which is actually tied into gold?

I agree. Future war could well be about debt. But it I am not sure if it would end peacefully. The US still the most powerful weaponry in the world and could very turn around as refuse to pay any debt that was called in. What they could do would be to accuse China of something and call it an act of war. This is pretty much what Hitler did to get out of paying reparations.
However, I doubt if either would dare to use nuclear weapons but I dont know, Trump is unpredictable and Putin is hard as nails. And the Chinese, well who knows that they would do. But then again there is the neutron bomb. They keep very quiet about that and that makes me nervous.
But for sure, the US is getting dangerously close to the point where countries might see them as not being able to pay back its debt.
Denmark is one of the few I have heard of who are actually preparing for the next financial crash of which they believe is inevitable.
The problem is. war makes money and the US knows that.

It seems things are kind of going this way, if it's true that China, Russia, Venezuela, and Iran have agreed to only accept yuan as their reserve currency.
Not sure if reached that stage completely yet...dollar still "world" currency...but...definitely being discussed...

Treasury Direct Accounts. Its your S.S.N number. A secret bank account we all have. Our Birth Certificate is a bond. But it can only be used to clear out debt. No one is informed about it so no one really knows. Its pretty much unlimited funds linked to federal reserve bank. Owned and operated by Banksters . Our S.S.N's are in the New York stock Exchange. Huge deception.

it'sall political now anyway, the media can spin anything it wants which makes everyone angry and war hungry and happy to back their government to go to war. I think bit by bit people are seeing through this though and beginning to make their own decisions rather than follow blindly. I think we will end up awakening and having a far more peaceful earth focused on love but it will proabbly come through a lot of devestation first.

Nice points but if any US debt were to be called- The US simply has the power to print more USD. Should the country in question require payment in a different currency then the treasury would purchase/trade USD for whatever currency on the FOREX. The impact of such ability by the US -allows the US to maintain/foster the current DEBT based economy.
