♠ Call a SPADE a SP8DE ♠

I have mentioned SP8DE before in my post series about gaming cryptos

In case you missed that series, you can get it here:

Part 1: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@bitbrain/how-to-win-the-game-of-cryptocurrencies-part-1

Part 2: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@bitbrain/how-to-win-the-game-of-cryptocurrencies-part-2

Part 3: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@bitbrain/how-to-win-the-game-of-cryptocurrencies-part-3

SP8DE features in part three, but I promise you that reading the whole series from start to finish is well worth it.

♠ Call a SPADE a SP8DE ♠

I have never tried a hard sell with SP8DE. For the most part SP8DE has been flying under the radar and I have left it there. Even my own radar often misses the SP8DE blip, but today I picked it up and I glanced in at what SP8DE has been up to lately. I thought that a small update may be of benefit to some of you.

Back in my "Part 3" post linked to above (for those of you who still decided to skip reading them, despite my telling you how brilliant they are!) , I had the following to say about SP8DE:

"I have bought one gambling coin. The one which I chose is not an online casino coin like most of the others. I bought Sp8de (https://sp8de.com), a coin which has only very recently been listed on coinmarketcap (I was in the ICO). Since that listing its price has taken quite a dive, making it a very attractive buy. Sp8de is one of the rare DApps built on the Cardano blockchain, already a good sign. The purpose of Sp8de is not be be a casino, but rather to sell true random number generation to online casinos. This sounds unnecessary and easy, but that is not the case! Current online casinos have no guarantee of fairness or no manipulation. Similarly a crypto casino that has its own random number generators could still write the code in its favour. Sp8de will change this by supplying true random generation as a third party. I should mention that I hear that Sp8de have considered opening their own online casino too."

I hold many different cryptos, I have told you this on numerous occasions. While I choose them carefully, I have no real guarantees that most of them will ever succeed, or perhaps even survive. Even the blindest of investors can see that thousands of tokens and coins must surely die off due to bad ideas, poor implementation, lack of funds, regulations, poor management etc. I have lost money to bad coins before (on several occasions) and will no doubt do so again. This is where updates become important; they help us to separate those which are progressing from those which are not. I am writing this post because SP8DE is progressing.

In early to mid-August SP8DE launched their revamped website (not that the old one was bad). I did repost one of their articles which was published on STEEM as well as on their website, but I want to comment a little further on the subject.

SP8DE is increasingly looking like the high quality project which I hoped it would be. It's already running on Cardano - which is a good sign and it's doing something that nobody else does: offer true randomness on a large scale. For those of you without a programming background, let me tell you that getting random numbers out of a computer is not nearly as easy as it sounds. Pseudo-random, sure, you can do that all day; but real random is another matter entirely. Pseudo-random isn't good enough because it can be manipulated both by the online casino and by the player (think high-tech "card counting"). SP8DE can generate over 10 000 000 real random numbers every second. This is what makes SP8DE so important...

In the words of SP8DE:

SP8DE’s aim is to make the game of chance more transparent and trustful for players. For the very first time, thanks to the blockchain, it has become possible to make gaming trusting, whether it is dice or and any other game where randomness is required. With SP8DE you can rest assured that no single party involved in the game can manipulate the outcome of the dice roll.
SP8DE’s mission is to become the gold standard of fairness in the $60 billion iGaming Industry.

SP8DE named their random generator in August, and their creation is now called "CHAOS". Which I think is pretty darn cool.

They have also been working on their wallet and MaaS, meaning that they want to also become a iGaming marketing specialist company. They continue to develop their offering as per their roadmap (see below).

To give you more of an idea as to where SP8DE are now, you can look at the following graphic:

With the external systems integration completed, SP8DE has made it possible for gaming (gambling) providers to integrate the SP8DE engine into their systems.

Buy?

SP8DE is very cheap at the moment, very cheap indeed.

It seems like the team are making good progress, and unlike almost every other ICO I have ever been a part of, are not running behind schedule. The series linked to at the start of this post shows how much money is in crypto gaming, and I didn't even dig into gambling in that series. A little tour around the SP8DE site will soon show you what that industry is worth. With the adoption of crypto, I foresee internet gambling increasing even further.

Short rant-like statement:- I see so many crypto investors who are seemingly scared to really invest. They all want to hover around the "safe" coins: EOS, LTC, BCH etc. Yes, they are safer, but the potential ROI stinks next to low market cap coins like this! But ask yourself: if safety is what you are after, then when the hell are you doing investing in crypto in the first place? This market is new and volatile and unpredictable! The crypto market is the Wild West portion of your portfolio, it shouldn't be about "playing safe" or only investing in "trusted brands". Hey, I'm not saying be stupid and reckless. I'm saying diversify a bit more! Get a few low market cap coins. They are so cheap, I have some tokens trading less than $1000 volume per day! Get them while you can! Don't regret playing it too safe later on. Take a few of those larger cryptos and turn them into lower market cap ones. Otherwise go buy gold or property instead or just put all your money under your mattress and sit on it.
