QUESTION: Bit Brain, which of the Top 40 coins do you think don't belong there?

ANSWER:

Quite a few of them.

I think that there are several high market cap coins that are not worthy of their position, for various reasons. It is my hope and belief that this situation will rectify itself in the future. Obviously those with the highest market caps will take longer to work their way down and eventually out of the Top 40.

Here is my list of those I don't think will stick around at the top in the long-term. Where I think justification is required, I have added it. The list is in order of descending market cap with current coinmarketcap.com position included for each.

Oh how I hate this pre-mined, mostly-held-by-the-founders, centralised "shitcoin"! But it certainly is popular. Eventually it may drop from the Top 40, but not nearly soon enough. Its ties to the existing financial markets will keep it on life-support far longer than what it deserves. I regard this coin as standing against the very purpose of crypto and I don't regard it as a proper cryptocurrency.

14 Monero

This coin specialises in shooting itself in the foot. I can't see Monero sticking around for too much longer. Only its well known name is keeping it up there through brand recognition alone.

24 Bytecoin

How did this even get so high?

26 Zilliqua

Riding a hype wave.

27 Decred

28 Aeternity

29 Bytom

30 Bitcoin Gold

The 51% attacks sounded the death knell for this coin that once had so much potential.

34 Verge

Now widely regarded as a joke by the crypto community, Verge has a serious case of foot-in-mouth disease! Of course a few die hard fans foolishly cling on in vain.
