Scam-chaos on Twitter will be stopped

Head of Twitter Jack Dorsey hinted that the social network has already begun to take action against the flooded site of fake accounts that lure users of money.

In recent months, the situation began to take a dangerous turn: profiles of famous personalities were mercilessly copied, as well as official accounts of crypto-currency and blockchain projects. Scammers offer to send a small amount in a crypto currency, as if to receive a purse address in order to send a tempting "gift", for example, 2 ETH or 3 LTC.

The most popular among scammers was purchased by the creator of the light-coat Charlie Lee: almost every post invariably receives messages from false doubles that promise the distribution of funds. At the same time, other supporters are connected, which leave words of gratitude and delight for free coins, giving the scheme credibility.

The situation was complicated by the fact that many well-known persons had problems with account verification, and this makes it difficult to determine the authenticity of the page. In addition, scammers have even learned to use verified accounts with blue labels for their own purposes.

"We are doing this," Jack Dorsey responded to the discontent from Cornell University Emin Gün Sirer and the remark that the situation was starting to get out of control.

However, there is more harm than good from retaliation. For example, a couple of days ago, for some unknown reason, the Kraken support service account was banned, which, of course, does not give confidence in the reliability of the platform in the eyes of its users.
