DPoS가 주류가 된다면 어떤 일이 벌어질까? What will happen if DPoS becomes the mainstream?

DPoS란 Delegated Proof-of-Stake의 약자로, BitShares, Steem, EOS 등에서 사용하고 있는 합의 방법이다. DPoS에서는 일정 수의 대표자들이 권한을 위임받아 블럭 생성을 담당한다. 대표자들은 투표를 통해 정해진다. 다시 말해 가장 괜찮은 후보자에게 돈을 벌 수 있는 권한을 투표로 준다는 것이다. 이 대표자들은 블록체인을 유지한다. 기존의 PoS에 비해, DPoS는 훨씬 빠르게 트랜잭션을 처리할 수 있다. 하지만 다른 합의 방법보다 더 중앙화된다는 비판이 있다.

만약 이 DPoS가 주류가 된다면 어떤 일이 벌어질까? 나는 상상력을 동원해 미래를 통찰해보기로 했다. 밑으로 더 내려갈수록, 더 먼 미래에서 일어날 만한 일을 적었다.

• 자신의 이름, 얼굴, 신분을 노출해 신뢰를 올릴 것이다.

• 이미지 마케팅을 할 것이다. 사람들은 웃는 얼굴로 자신을 포장할 것이고, 자신이 얼마나 믿을만한 사람인지, 얼마나 합리적인 사람인지 주장할 것이다.

• 자신을 홍보하기 위한 봇이 나올 것이다.

• 사람들은 광고와 마케팅에 돈을 투자해서 자신을 더 알릴 것이다.

• 한 명의 후보자를 위해 여러 사람들이 모여들 것이다. 이들은 믿음 혹은 이해관계에 의해 대신 홍보를 해줄 것이다.

• 후보자들은 공약을 만들 것이다. 이를 통해 이해관계를 조성할 것이다.

• 몇몇 후보자들은 담합을 할 것이다.

• 기업형 후보자들이 나오게 될 것이다.

• 기존 기업들이 후보자 산업에 끼어들 것이다.

• 후보 기업들은 스팀잇에 로비를 할 것이다.

• 정부가 본격적으로 관여할 것이다.

• 투표 결과에 따라 실생활이 바뀔 것이다.

사실 개인적으로는 여기까지 가기도 전에 DPoS가 망할 것이라 생각한다. 너무 지저분하기 때문이다.

DPoS is an abbreviation of Delegated Proof-of-Stake. It is a consensus algorithm used by BitShares, Steem and EOS. In DPoS, a certain number of delegates are authorized to create blocks. Delegates are elected by vote. In other words, people can vote to give the best candidates the right to earn money. These delegates maintain a blockchain system. Compared to traditional PoS, DPoS can process transactions much faster. However, there is criticism that DPoS is more centralized than other consensus algorithms.

If this DPoS becomes mainstream, what will happen? I imagined the future. As I went further down, I wrote down things that could happen in the far future.

• Candidates will reveal their name, face, and identity to build a trust.

• Candidates will strategically do image marketing. They will promote themselves in a smile, claiming how trustworthy they are and how reasonable they are.

• A bot will come out to promote candidates themselves.

• Candidates will invest more money in advertising and marketing to let people know more about.

• Supporters will gather for one candidate. They will promote the candidate on their faith or interest.

• Candidates will make commitments. This will interest some people.

• Some delegates will be fixing.

• Entrepreneurial candidates will emerge.

• Existing companies will be involved in the delegate industry.

• Candidate companies will lobby Steemit.

• The government will be involved in earnest.

• The results of the voting will change the real life.

In fact, I personally think DPoS is doomed to failure because it's too dirty.
