It’s a new world out there ladies and gentleman. Cryptocurrency is being referred to as the “wild, wild west” of money and while that may be true, there is an awful lot of stability that has come with this new form of payment as well. As companies become more comfortable with crypto, it will undoubtedly be taken at most places for purchases. For now however, the pickin’s remain slim as to where you can exchange your crypto for goods. Here is a list of the 5 most surprising things I could find that you can buy with your crypto.

1. GUNS

I suppose guns have always been available for black market sale, or trade or barter, but one company in particular, in Texas, (because of course) called Central Texas Gun Works, takes BTC in store or online for gun purchases! It really doesn’t get much more wild west than that.

2. Beer

Old Fitzroy, A pub in Sydney Australia, was the first pub to start taking BTC as payment. Now bars and pubs all over the world have begun relying on it as payment. Pretty soon you will be able to buy your booze at a convenient store with BTC. What a time to be alive!!!

3. Real Estate

Wuzzah, wuzzah? Oh that’s right, you read it correctly. Websites are popping up all over the place that claim to sell real estate for BTC. The first major website to jump in on this was Bitcoin Real Estate, but many have followed in their footsteps. I even personally know a friend who bought a damn near mansion with real estate! Crazy right?

4. Sandwiches

In 2013, a Subway owner in Pennsylvania decided to open his store to accepting Bitcoin. Since then many restaurants have followed suit, and they have also seen a rise in people participating in online ordering. Now, whether or not someone would choose to buy something so small when conversion rates are so high is another story, but with new pay sites popping up all the time (like Puma Pay) it won’t be long before paying via crypto is just another way to pay!

5. A Taxi ride

It takes a little bit of work, like acquiring a bitcoin Visa debit card, but even without that, many countries offer Uber rides with just bitcoin and many places in the US are starting to as well. Soon enough cryptocurrency will even be getting us from point A to point B, how cool is that?
