Well another interesting week in Crypto! LOL

We are in the midst of more recovery from a month's worth of "THE DUMPENING Part 2" --- a BIG one the last ~3 weeks.
Details on that in part, from a couple past posts here and yes, the market dumped even more after that post, and no, it was not my fault!
We are used to seeing unprecedented growth in the entire Crypto Currency space, not just in Bitcoin.

As of just now about 8:15 pm EST 10/4/2017:
--- the CMC.com (CoinMarketCap.com) charts are showing our total market cap for Crypto is still flat/ red / recovering- overall compared to the huge highs in the last ~ month of course......but bled out again this last ~week with (mostly) the China / Korea markets FUD driving things down... again.
Basically we have lost ~ $30B to $45B in the last month or so since the Sept. 2nd huge ATH that touched the $180B mark. My links to my other posts there above explains it in much more detail.
Markets responded , fell, and have been bleeding red and or showing a lot of volatility again for much of the last 2 weeks.
We have had elevated and sustained for many many days on and off now, since the Bitcoin / Bitcoin Cash Forkening event caused the markets to finally swell back over the $100B mark for the first time in weeks since Aug. 1st -- and had kept climbing to that epic Sept. 2nd mark of $180B total crypto market cap.

~ say 11:30 pm EST on Sept. 1st - we were RIGHT on the cusp on crossing the $180B mark for the first time......we were at yet more new ATH's and records!
We fell overnight from that point to $162B -- Losing approx. $17B.
It often happens on FUD Fridays as we know.
Right now we are sitting at $143B and as in the title -- We have had big losses as we know the last few weeks but are in recovery / gaining back that ground again.

Sept. 2nd 2017 was a HUGE ATH! Touched the $180B Total Crypto Market Cap
Bitcoin (as my regular updates will show) was RIGHT on the very edge of crossing the $5k mark USD for the first time, it was literally around $4980/$4990 USD!!!! (Sept. 1st, 2017 later at night.)

Just perspective / We almost crossed the Crypto Market cap of $180B in the last 20 hours of Sept. 1st 2017:
Half the Market Cap DUMPED as I mentioned above has happened to us before.......As we did just around June 21st, when it hit the high of $117B and then tanked into the $65 to $95B range for weeks.
Those were bloodbath times. Shudders -- Even though the dramatic rise, signalled a clear correction would be coming.

Still HODLing... although even I'm annoyed to see steem dip right back down to $1.10 after it hit $1.50... Was hoping to see it retain some of its post-SMT-announcement gains...

Sry Barry I wasn't back on steem before now -
I haven't looked too much into the bitshares controversy, many people think it's due to Bittrex being afraid of Bitshares. makes sense to me - Bitshares is a direct competitor to Bittrex, much more convenient, and therefore likely to appeal to casual cryptocurrency users...
TBH, in the free market, isn't this normal? If Bitshares is competing with Bittrex, it's natural for Bittrex to not want to support them... I like both services, so I'm pretty neutral on the whole thing.
P.S. - SBD peg is up to $1.07 as of this moment :-)
I wrote Bittrex a letter back today about some crap on their site and support too man. It is good, I may publish it and told them off in short but certain terms on some of their clear garbage.

Great post, I keep buying Steem but having bought many other coins lately. I was going to buy some more Litecoin but it seems stuck at around 50 dollars. I wouldn't invest everything in cryptos but a little bit here and there
