Tykn Partners with Governments and NGO’s to bring about one of the greatest innovations that the blockchain technology will ever bring.

All humans have basic needs which may or may not be met, but in our quest to meet these needs, we have to make sure that we keep doing one thing and that is to stay alive.

The need for protection and security is paramount since all economic and financial successes can only be enjoyed when an individual feels safe enough to live the life of comfort they have always desired.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow was one of the most prominent scholars the modern was has ever known. He came up with a theory that describes the hierarchy of human needs and apart from water and food there are other important components of existence that the human mind continuously craves for. One of which is the need for a “sense of belonging”; knowing that you have a heritage; came from somewhere and have a place to call home. The second one that I will be talking about in this post is the need for safety and protection; we all want to feel protected knowing that we are safe and that our lives and survival aren’t faced with any form of threats.

The Problem that Tykn seeks to solve

Billions of people on the planet are deprived of the need to have these two basic needs because of chaos in the place where they call home. There are millions of people who can’t go home anymore, not because they don’t know how to, but because it is not safe to return home. Some of these have become refugees in distant territories and will have to bear the trauma of living in the midst of strangers (and in hostile conditions) for the rest of their lives.

When we put this category of people in comparison to those who don’t even know where to call home we can refer to them as fortunate enough. Some individuals (children) by the reason of time and distance have not only lost their sense of protection and belonging but they have also lost their sense of identity.

Millions of children in regions like Syria don’t even know who they are or where they are from. This leaves us with a generation of children that are suffering from lost identities; not knowing their heritage or sense of worth.

Thousands upon thousands flee their home countries after witnessing the dreadful deaths and killings of their families and neighbours. The implication is that there’s no room big enough to contain them all in the territories they will end up filling up. So we will have a situation where a large number of people will be homeless, broke and rejected in a land that is not their own and in the worst case lose their identities.

Nothing much can be done to ease the victims of the past but there are steps being taken by governments and NGO’s from all over the world to aid this affected group of people. Great initiatives have been started to solve or extenuate the impact of this trauma. The challenges they face have been addressed by different experts and organizations. Such challenges include; homelessness, rejection, emotional upheaval among many others.

The Birth of Tykn

Some of these victims have been able to rise above the mediocre and have birthed great visions out of their past situations just to ensure that life is more bearable for the coming generations that may be exposed to the same circumstances. One of such vision is the Tykn initiative that seeks to restore the identities of children that have lost theirs and create a credible infrastructure beyond the jurisdiction of any government to avoid such occurrences going forward.

Tykn aids governments and NGO’s all over the world as they provide assistance to victims of lost identities through their Ana mobile App.

Tykn is a smartphone-oriented project and I believe that is the best way in a world that is rapidly going digital. Tey el-Rjula saw the idea of making the project a smartphone-oriented one after their visit to a certain refugee camp and noticed that most of the people present there had smartphones including the victims. So he created a model that would allow people to leverage on their smartphones using the blockchain technology to independently register the records of children voluntarily on a distributed ledger.

The information contained on the Tykn Ana network will permanently exist and will be unaffected by human errors, failed governments or databases and maybe even wars. The information will be readily accessible at all times as long the blockchain exists. This will fix the problem of lost identities faced by these innocent young children and families.

Tykn helps with more than just the Identity Management Systems

According to the founder and CEO of Tykn, the project will also be offering concerned governments and NGO’s with a blockchain service platform, where birth certificates can be issued on the blockchain together with all other means of identification. The processes involved will be digital and not just digital but blockchain-oriented in order to guarantee the permanence of the records. The initiative has been tested with the Red Cross 510 project and the government of Netherland; so far has been working perfectly and has proven that it can be applied seamlessly any part of the world.

Update on Decentralized 2018!

One of the biggest blockchain summits on the planet will be starting tomorrow and the founder of Tykn will be one of the major speakers. He will be pitching the project once again in the presence of over 1000 attendees and more than 70 guest speakers. It is going to be such an awesome time to go and listen to him as he will be speaking on a project that was born out of his personal life and experience.

Tykn is one great humanitarian act and I think it deserves the support of all those who are committed to promoting the well-being of the human race all over the world.
