Long Shots (AEON, Mooncoin, PinkCoin, SpectreCoin, FeatherCoin, HTMLcoin, BitSwift, MintCoin, Unitus, Piggy)

I keep around 5% of my portfolio in long shots... Assets that may never see the light of day, but if they do there will be great rewards. Even spending as much as a few hundred bucks could yield tens of thousands. What are the odds? Well that's of course impossible to calculate; But through research and process of elimination you can at least give a handful of assets the benefit of the doubt. Even then, you may end up with no winners. Some assets listed below have ALREADY shown impressive results and we must keep in mind that past performance DOES NOT indicate future performance.

Long Shot; A venture or guess that has only the slightest chance of succeeding or being accurate.

The assets listed below are a handful of what I personally classify as long shots (High Risk). Because it's a matter of opinion, I don't expect everyone to agree.. Be sure to always do your own research and make a partial-exit plan before investing in long shots. For someone who is not looking to take high risks, then these are assets you would want to avoid!

AEON (Market Cap: $14 Million) has a lead developer named IamSmooth which is also a core developer and admin/mod over at Monero. As some of us already know, Monero has a market cap of $1.7 Billion. Now I personally feel it's a small world especially in the crypto scene, so therefore I decided to treat this as a long shot.

Mooncoin (Market Cap: $13 Million) has a community with dreams that Mooncoin will actually take them to the moon.. (financially) Either way, Mooncoin innovations such as Smart Likes (monetizing likes), Moon Word (blockchain recordkeeping) and fast micro transactions may one day bring this asset more attention.. By the way, the limited total supply (385 Billion coins) is based on average distance from the Earth to the Moon in millimeters.

PinkCoin (Market Cap: $12 Million) has an appeal to women from the start, it's pink.. With Pinkcoin merchandise and goals like "partnering with schools to help teach blockchain technology" and "Donate4Life", it may have potential.. However, I completely disagree with the idea of having 'Pink Poker' which promotes/educates bad gambling habits. The recent addition of new team members gives it some hope but it's still a long shot..

Spectrecoin (Market Cap: $10 Million) is one that is hard to ignore; As of today, it ranks 6th as the best performing asset in history since the initial coin offering. (https://icostats.com/roi-since-ico) If the market cap is only at $10 million while achieving impressive past performance, one can only hope it continues.. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

Feathercoin (Market Cap: $9 Million) is another long shot with a healthy amount of exchanges for its size. It's community seems active enough that I don't see it going away anytime soon, therefore i'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

HTMLcoin (Market Cap: $5 Million) has indeed had it's fair share of problems in the past. But that doesn't stop them from overcoming difficulties and moving forward! Some of you may have heard the saying "Persistence Pays Off" and maybe that will be the case with HTMLcoin..

BitSwift (Market Cap: $5 Million) has a business model that I think will grow well into the future.. But that doesn't mean the BitSwift asset will.. "Please note, while the Bitswift rewards network has a good track record, it is still considered experimental software." - BitSwift This is no surprise as most assets are experimental, but I would like to see that as the company grows, so does the asset.

Mintcoin (Market Cap: $2.9 Million) has a passionate community but I feel they are currently lacking direction and capital. However I believe Mintcoin has connections deep in the crypto scene (POS) that one day may lend a helping hand and bring this asset out of the shadows.

Unitus (Market Cap: $750,000) has an extremely small market cap putting it in a very high risk category.. or is it? Could it just be a massively undervalued? Even though it's been recently added to the Chinese exchange BTC100 (June 2017) it has STILL been overlooked by investors.. The community might be sleeping, but I don't think this asset is.. We'll have to just wait and see..

PiggyCoin (Market Cap: $300,000) is one I threw in because I like the educational approach. Talk about a low market cap, goodness.. Even though PiggyCoin may never hit the mainstream market, I believe something like this is essential to educating future generations. The activity and community participation for PiggyCoin is nearly non-existent, but oddly enough I feel the dream is still alive.. (Probably the highest risk listed.)

Now it's inevitable that on Reddit we are going to get haters and down votes but this post isn't for them, it's for you, my followers and people who actually want to take (or avoid) high risk assets. The long shots I mentioned above is just a small example of what's out there. Through research you can find whole lot more but remember stay within your budget and don't over-diversify in long shots. (If you have $1,000 or LESS to spend on long shots, I would research and pick 4-7 to invest in.)

I have already made substantial returns off long shots and I think there are still many more opportunities out there.. For example, I bought Verge (XVG) when it was only 3 sats and today it's around 150 sats... I bought Reddcoin when it was 2/3 sats and and sold at 60. BitBean I bought around 6 sats and watched as it surpassed 300 sats (I sold at 93 which is still a good return). But not all long shots will pay off, some may NEVER see the light of day or show any impressive results... In fact, even if they do show impressive results, they may never succeed long-term which is why ongoing research and exit plans should be determined before investing. Through good diversification, if you do hit a winner the rewards can be substantial. Just remember to sell part of your inventory once you've reached your desired goal and diversify those returns into A-AAA assets. (Know when to exit!)

As I mentioned already, long shots are high risk assets that can 'potentially' yield high returns. On the flip-side, you could simply end up with complete losers long-term. Always do your own research and never over-spend on long shots. I personally invest less than 5% of my portfolio in long shots, so if every single one failed and got delisted, it would have no major impact on my portfolio.. However if only 1 asset was to show impressive results, the returns would be far greater than the total investment of all the long shots combined. Balancing the risk vs reward within your budget is key.

Like you should with any asset... Once you invest, don't think of it as 'money gone'... think of it as 'assets acquired'. Now be patient and simply wait however long it takes for impressive results. It could be months, maybe years... With ongoing research you'll know if and when the market starts to move and why. By researching and giving yourself adequate goals, you'll be able to determine when the asset becomes overvalued before everyone does.

Now I am not telling anyone to invest in these assets, I am only giving you insight on why I decided to treat them as long shots.. You should do your own research and come up with your own list of long shots... Like I said, it doesn't hurt my portfolio if they were to all fail miserably. Because these assets are high risk, I do not recommend investing in long shots unless you have already shown patience and long-term commitment when investing.
