200,000 ARK Bounty for Developers in the 1st Year

The bounty starts from 1st of April 2017 (hey we are giving you some head-start any pull done before 1st will count for April) and ends on the 1st of April 2018 — not a joke we are serious :). Payout once per month when we review and evaluate all pulls.

ARK is an open source project and we value our community more than anything. In an open source environment like ours, community supporters can provide the critical boost that a project needs to see long term success. In order to cultivate a community full of experienced developers, security experts, and dedicated enthusiasts, we are instituting a developer bounty program to help show our appreciation for all of the hard work you all are putting into ARK.

We want to give every developer, hacker, or hobbyist who sees something special in ARK an opportunity to be rewarded for their valuable input to our ecosystem. We know we can’t do this without you!

For the 1st year, we have allocated 200,000 ARK from our bounty fund to cover our developer bounty program. These funds will be awarded to any contributors who want to further improve our codebase, find critical bugs, or identify security breaches that might pose a threat to our network.

How does it Work?

The program will consist of contribution rewards, monthly contests, and annual awards that will be focused on rewarding the top contributors, most impactful pulls, and consistent performance from the open source community. Let’s take a look at the different ways in which you can earn ARK for your contributions!

Code Contributions/Pull Requests

Each accepted pull request from our development team will automatically reward you 5 ARK.
We value your time and energy finding areas for improvement within our code, no matter how big they are. While this is a small amount of ARK, the pull rewards can add up over time and each one will enter you into the second phase of our program!

Each month we will calculate for the total number of pull requests from the community. The top 3 developers each month (by number of accepted pulls) will be awarded the following:

1st place: 5,000 ARK
2nd place: 3,000 ARK
3rd place: 2,000 ARK

In addition, we will award a “Most Valuable Pull (MVP-ARK)**” each month which will earn an additional 2,000 ARK! This will be voted on and selected by the ARK Crew.

• In the event that no one makes any contributions during the month, that months reward will go to a separate fund for the top developer of the year(ARKveloper). The MVP-ARK reward will go to a quarterly bounty.
• If there is only 1 contributor during the month, he will receive the 1st place bounty automatically. 2nd and 3rd place will go to the ARKveloper of the year fund.
  ** We can determine if in the running month MVP-ARK is to be given or if not (typos in documentation for instance won’t count as MVP-ARK)— if not the reward goes towards quarterly bonus.

Contributor of the Quarter

On top of calculating the monthly rewards, we will also keep track of quarterly statistics. Every 3 months we will designate a Contributor of the Quarter who will receive an additional 6,000 ARK!

Developer of the Year (April ‘17 — April ‘18)

At the end of the GitHub bounty year, we will look at all of the contributions from our community, including the monthly and quarterly winners. The ARK Crew will then designate a “Developer of the Year”. The selected community member will receive 16,000 ARK and a special custom made ARK T-Shirt shipped to his home named “#1 ARKveloper”!

Submitting PR (Pull-Request) is a tacit agreement of the ongoing terms. The decision of the winners is of the sole responsibility of ARK team and no appeal will be taken. Every PR containing only typo corrections (eg. document with typo word) will be counted once per month only per GitHub user and won’t count as sum to your total monthly PR.
