100% agree that China's ICO ban, is not a bad news straight away. as to have 1000 cryptocurrencies in total.... is crazy!
Most of them won't survive even a year.... then the rest won't survive 5 years. And just a few will be adopted by the masses. So to have a bit of control on scammers etc is good.
My best advice is: do research on cryptos, look at the teams and project plans of particular cryptocoins etc. Just explore for 30-60 minutes the coin you want to invest. And I can guarantee: you will get deeper knowledge of the whole ecosystem of cryptos, and those coins you were planing to put your money in.
