Adbank and Howdoo To Revolutionize Revenue Sharing In Social Media

Hello everyone and I hope you guys are having a blast! Today I want to share with you these two amazing platform that leverages blockchain technology to make a more equitable ecosystem for content creators, publishers and consumers. Let me first introduce each of the platform so that you can get a better understanding of what each platform is and what are their primary use cases and later we will reveal why they are a match made in heaven.

What is Adbank?

Let me first discuss with you what Adbank is and what value proposition it brings to the table. Let me first share with you this very entertaining video presentation from the Adbank team about their platform and what they are trying to accomplish.

As indicated in the video shown above, adbank seeks to address three main problems online advertising suffering from right now: Fraud, lack of transparency and unfair revenue sharing where the middlemen taking more than their fair share. But wait, isn't it possible for existing ecosystem to address these problems? Perhaps yes, if the the middle men are willing to spend for fraud detection and lowering their profit margins which I think will most likely not happen.

This intermediaries will not also show proprietary systems they have develop to maximize their profit thus there is no transparency where advertisers can check if they are really reaching the target market they are aiming for and not fraudulent bots that mimics consumer behavior. As we can see the intermediaries that are suppose to guarantee effective advertising and marketing is part of the problem which adbank tries to disrupt.

How exactly will Adbank address advertising problem?

Adbank plans to solve this problem by providing a blockchain-powered platform that is opensource, fully auditable though the blockchain and thus immutable ensuring advertisers adbank's ad platform can be trusted.

By using a smart contract implemented in the Ethereum network Adbank plans to deliver advertisers standardized display statistics, fully transparent agreements through the blockchain, verifiable by third parties and Patent Pending Anti-Fraud Artificial Intelligence Integrated to the blockchain. According to their site

AdBank’s Patent Pending Anti-Fraud & Anti-Rebate AI System uses the internal AdBank analytics data warehousing and cutting edge artificial intelligence to compare trends between the analytics and the larger block-chain. This allows the system to “follow the money” and reveal any “rebate laundering”, emergent fake user traffic data, and other fraudulent markers in traffic and token data. It is based on deep neural networks, fuzzy logic, and other time proven AI technologies.

Adbank is currently beta testing their revolutionary ecosystem based on blockchain technology. The latest version is beta version 2.5 which you can read in their blog here.

I have recently registered in the Adbank beta 2.5 platform and added mysteemit blog in the platform. My steemit application to be added in the platform is still pending. Once I am accepted I will make a thorough preview/review of the platform as a publisher. As of the moment I am not sure if the platform allows simultaneous roles (advertiser and publisher) are allowed.

What is the value proposition Adbank?

The value proposition of adbanks that gives the publishers and advertisers is quite obvious. More Revenue for publishers and advertisers. By cutting the middle-man publishers can get a bigger share of the ads revenue while advertisers will spend less at advertisement due to removal of a major cost center: the middle-man. This is on top of the valuable information the platform will provide to its users (both advertisers and publishers).

For the consumers, there is also further value adbank brings in the table. I believe that the vast amount of savings the companies who will try to use the platform for their online advertising campaign will translate to lower prices of goods and services.

What is Howdoo?

Basically Howdoo is a messaging up and social media platform that is very much similar in function of other messaging and social media platform. It enable its users to communicate and share valuable contents through pictures, videos and writing. It can be liken to messenger, facebook, instragram and youtube. However unlike this traditional messaging and social media outlets users has total control of their data information, there is no centralize authority that will dictate what can be shared or activities done in the social network, and lastly it enables all parties in the ecosystem be rewarded for their valuable contributions in the network.

What are the the problems Howdoo is trying to solve?

The primary problem with current social media outlets right now is that they are too centralized. They keep too much of our data and there is no way of stopping them to monetize our data and contents that essentially WE create. In fact they know more about ourselves than we do. These data is captured every time we use their seemingly free services such as messenger, facebook, google search, instagram or youtube. These services aren't free since our content and data we create ourselves generate pays for it. Our content and data plays a major role in the economics of these centralized social networks. However up until recently there is no way to reward the contributors equitably. There is where Howdoo comes in the picture. Howdoo's whitepaper puts it more blatantly

social media platforms use the true value of their networks – user-generated content and personal data – to generate advertising revenues for the sole purpose of financial gain.

What is the value proposition Howdoo?

The simple answer to this question is having total control of your data and information and being able to monetize contents and data you create. As the Howdoo team puts it putting the power back to the hands of the users and enabling them to earn and transact and be rewarded.

How exactly will Howdoo address the problems of Centralize Social Media?

Howdoo will be creating a whole new breed of social media network using distributed ledger technology and its own cryptocurrency called µDoo which will be the main cryptocurrency used within the new social platform. A platform that is completely decentralized, democratic and revolutionary, where everyone that contributes valuable content are rewarded equitably.

µDoo was initially set to launch under the Ethereum network but recent development suggest that the platform they are developing will be using EOS or a fork of EOS. Scalability is the main issue that prompted the development team to consider EOS as it is generally viewed that it is more scalable than Ethereum. Despite current development in Ethereum using second layer protocol implementations such as Sharding and Plasma for the time being EOS or a fork of EOS will be used by the team. There is an alpha version of howdoo that is currently available for download as a pre-release alpha version. It is only available for android. I was able to download the application recently. However I can not seem to get the verification number from OTP thus I was not able to test the alpha application. I will revisit the howdoo application some other time when I get to verify my account.
