on 15 August 2017, the Central Bank of Thailand held a meeting with the digital currency startup OmiseGo and the co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, to discuss the domestic economy and the financial sector [1].

Issues such as a possible integration of Ethereum and blockchain-based services of startup companies might look to improve existing banking system and financial platforms of the country were discussed.

OmiseGo, founded in 2013, relies on an ethereum-based technology to implement payment processing based on blockchain technology. You can get more read out the white paper here.

The company pursues the following ideology:

"Through the network associated with the Ethereum network, anyone can be able to handle financial transactions such as payments, transfers, payroll, B2B trading, supply chain finance, treprogrammes, asset management, trading and on-demand - services in a fully decentralized and cost-effective manner. "

Other blockchain developments have already been applied in Thailand. Among them is the leading Thai business bank Kasikornbank, which cooperates with the technology giant IBM.

In addition, a number of other countries, such as South Korea, Japan and China, have announced plans to use Ethereum to improve existing state infrastructures.
