No doubt XRP have good potential but problem with Ripple is it is only targeting big financials institution....on the other hand stellar have much more potential than XRP because it is targeting big as well as small financial institution especially in africa continent and supply of XLM is limited to 1% per year. I see stellar as a better option over micro payment and remittance over XRP and.it is more competitive with XRP in term of transaction time and cost.
Perhaps, but I see Ripple doing something similar to what Amazon did. It's starting with something very specific like selling books. Once they were very efficient at that, they started selling other things. Once Ripple perfects cross boarder settlements I could see them working with national banks, then retail banks and businesses. Once the liquidity is there for the large FI Ripple can draw on it for other businesses that will use XRP to transfer funds from one place to another.
