The Simple trick to be DdoS Protected On Budget with Gladius
I used to have a brick and Mortar store. We worked from 9 A.M to 6 P.M and Jack did a good job guarding our store. In the evening when we would close the store and move to the rear side where my home happened to be our dog used to keep vigil. Jack took a reasonable salary and our pet dog would be happy with his regular meals and a once in a while treat.
Business was limited but life was simple and good.
Going with the trend we opened an online store. Sure it was good for business and we started getting orders even after office hours as having an online business gave us round the clock presence on the internet.
This required hiring more hands to man the computers. Though it is a different matter that a lot of time these computers are connected to the internet doing nothing. Yet I have to pay the bill for the electricity and the internet.Luckily my internet plan gives me unlimited usage for a flat fee yet it remains mostly underutilized.
The biggest challenges is getting security for my website. The guy who made the site for me says I should sign up for CDN & DDoS protection services to safeguard my website.
I even tried to contact various vendors but the disappointing part is that they all charge a lot that too for a possible Ddos attaack. There is no refund in case attack does not happen.
Even if I were to go for a basic plan my purse would be lighter every month by a few thousand dollars.
Even though the increasing number of DDoS attacks scare me but the fee for getting my site DDoS protected is prohibitive.
I crosschecked the prices with a number of CDN & DdoS protection providers but the prices are quite expensive for me.
Gladius is a name that seems to come to the fore with a much better and competitive pricing plan. Their business approach is very different.
Gladius would rent bandwidth from internet users. To rent out spare bandwidth and storage capacity a user would need to install the Gladius software on their computer.
This software is designed to run in the background and its job is to contribute the spare bandwidth and storage space to a common pool. In return the Gladius network would pay the contributing person by means of GLA tokens
Using this pooled resource Gladius would build a decentralized CDN & DdoS protection network.
This peer to peer, serverless node network would connect bandwidth and storage pools to websites looking for CDN & DdoS protection services. These websites pay GLA tokens for the Gladius CDN & DdoS blocking service.
This model aims to provide a lower priced protection as compared to the ongoing market rates.
The folks who have computers connecting to the internet can earn handsomely my renting their spare bandwidth and this would help a lot of people come under the protective care of CDN & DdoS protection services and expedited content delivery.
So businesses can earn GLA tokens which are Ethereum backed tokens and save money by renting their bandwidth and at the same time but a resonably priced CDN & DdoS protection solution.
So the simple trick is to use your computers to earn the GLA tokens and when the need arises get Ddos protected.
