No GPU's No Problem

in #cryptocurrency9 years ago

Mining profitability has recently increased. So, if you’re a crypto-enthusiast like me you’ve probably encountered difficulty purchasing GPU’s online for regular prices. Sure, you can go buy one on eBay for a 30% markup but who wants to spend more on an investment. Burst coin has some interesting advantages that I believe every miner should take into consideration.

Proof of Capacity

Burst coin uses an advanced green algorithm to verify transactions. All you need is free space on your HDD hard drive to contribute to the network and mine your own coins. The algorithm favors smaller miners by design.

Features

• Energy Efficient and Green
o Burst network uses 10KW of power compared to Bitcoins 200KW
• Mineable by everybody
o Proof of Capacity is ASIC proof and very easy to mine, taking control away from bigger investors.
• Decentralized by design
o The Proof of Capacity algorithm allows anyone with extra space on their computer to participate in the network.

Block Reward

• 2,158,812,800 coins total
• 4-minute block time
• Proof of Capacity Implemented Block reward starts at 10,000 / Block
• Block Reward Decreases at 5% each month

Overall, this remarkable technology is worth taking interest in. The burst network proves that mining is still possible regardless of the GPU shortage. This technology seems innovative, stable and by my calculations I should have my ROI in 5 months maximum. If you don’t believe in Burst coin remember you can always use the networks mining profitability and convert burst coin into whatever coin you believe in. Keep in mind that this is not investing advice, just a different approach of creating extra passive income. I suggest you use my experiences as an alternate perspective, rather than, replicating without doing further research.

How much free space is the minimum requirement?

A lot. My Burst mining rig is currently 24 TB and that is considered small. I am considering upgrading the motherboard to one with more PCI slots to house 160GB.

Burst mining is not cheap to set up and buy components but is actually pretty profitable.

I would argue is cheap compared to GPU mining considering you can put a lot of external hard drives on one computer like I am doing.

its definitely not cheaper. To match the revenue from a 6 GPU mining rig you would need about 20-22 8TB hard drives. Even if you get the hard drives at a good price its still about 50% more expensive to set up than a GPU rig.

I believe the see a minimum varies you can check the how much you'll make here http://burstcoin.biz/calculator. Just to see if your hard drive space is worth the time.
