To find the key of the human "soul" and consciousness, hidden in our brain, waiting to be discovered and be able to "upload" ourselves into a computer. Release ourselves from our physics thresholds and death.
You are right, to keep our souls will be harder and harder...
Yes, but it worth it. It would mean not just being eternal. If we are able to upload our consciousness into a computer it would mean the definitive fusion of humans and machines, a new age of human race.
But to reach that amazing achievement we have to first solve two big challenges:
1. Understand our consciousness: Find where resides our consciousness, how it works and how we can we "pass" that conscience and all the related cognitive process into a computer.
2. Create a supercomputer with the same computing power than a human brain
It's something not likely to happen in a few decades, but every big step in the human history begun like a dream.
