Hackers are now modifying wallet addresses when you copy and paste them according to BleepingComputer the security firm that discovered this malware. This malware takes control of your clipboard, whenever it recognizes that you are copying a wallet address and changes it for a address that the attacker controls.

You may wonder, how can I protect myself?

Well, this security firm has advice to keep your antivirus updated and running all the time plus double checking your address whenever you copy and paste it.
A recent report pointed out that criminals are targeting the virtual currency space as it is easier to cover their tracks compared to traditional financial markets. Experts have also indicated that crimes targeting cryptos are rising each day with criminals using sophisticated tools to override equally sophisticated cryptocurrency security.
