RE: Name YOUR decentralized social network?

in #cryptocurrencies6 years ago (edited)

Seems Uncommons is best fit to blogging (and perhaps discussion forums) but it’s too general (or abstract) for conveying a decentralized Wikipedia.

Instead seems that Infotree is better for a multifurcated Wikipedia alternative. That could be a standalone domain/app (e.g. infotree.app/.org), or a subdomain/app within such as infotree.uncommons.app/.org).

Note in addition to the multifurcation informational data structure contemplated, Infotree also implies a concept “tree of information” aka “tree of knowledge”, especially when conceptualized as depicted as follows:

And when not as the Biblical interpretation depicted below, although even some scholars think the Biblical interpretation should be more akin to the above than below:

The above dApps are probably sufficient for launching our (aka Ξ?) project. Video dApp(s) could follow later perhaps even from a third parties. So I don’t want to put effort into trying to think of good names for video dApps. Streem (or Streemin) is one possibility, but there’s probably better names.

But I think Realms would be better fit for the gaming (although still also like the name Immortal for gaming).

Actually, I'm veering more to Immortal now

I might be also, but they’re both good names for a gaming portal.

tipping gamification makes me think a token name such as funbits or juju might be more apropos.

Yeah, I think you're nearly there with funbits, but not quite. Something more dynamic than “fun”?

Not just for tips. These are generally in-game tokens. See my more general explanation of “colored coins” in my prior post.

In any case, we don’t need to dream up these names. The third party developers will for their dApp(s).

Our naming work seems to be essentially completed.
