It's grabbing all of the headlines. Bitcoin drops, er, plunges, disabling exchanges due to volume, and causing overall bad vibes in the crypto-currency milieu. Bitcoin has experienced unprecedented growth and has attracted money from new investors all the way to it's record high.

Buy Low. Sell High ~ Professors Experience & Hindsight

Depending on when you showed up to the party, you are either taking profits or freaking the f out, especially if you had the confidence to own coins priced at the all time high of over $20,000/coin. Those that purchased at that time just need to revisit the reasons why they thought Bitcoin would go higher. If all those reasons remain the same, any drop represents an opportunity to dollar cost average. Investors that believe in the long term return potential of Bitcoin need to DCA, HODL, and do something fun. Investors that bought strictly due to the hype and the hopes of striking a quick exponential return may have to rethink their strategies.

The Bitcoin Boom has attracted investors that have not experienced investment volatility in the past. Especially the volatility that is inherent in the new frontier of blockchain. Shaky hands buy high and sell low, fueled by emotion over fundamentals. Please do your due diligence before making any investment. Know what the company does, what they sell, how they can expand and increase the value of your investment. The time spent getting to know the investment will allow you to ride out the inevitable dips and valleys all speculative investments make.

As of this post, the majority of the coins listed on coin market cap are still in the red, but they are off of their lows. My personal portfolio was down more than 40% when I woke up this morning. I prefer to see a screen of green, but I have confidence in the future of the coins I own and bought more. I'm looking out to March and June 2018 when many new blockchain projects go live. We'll see who the early winners will be.
