ViDiLOOK | THE REFUND UPDATE
When ViDiLOOK was launched, it was inarguably a very revolutionary project with a unique application of blockchain technology, blockchain technology was founded on the noble ideology of financial transparency and equality, before the invention of blockchain technology, banks and major centralized financial institutions exclusively controlled the flow of money and this was why a single cross border transaction could take days to execute with very high fees incurred.
Blockchain technology changed all that as the Blockchain has enabled cross border payments to happen within seconds and for fees as low as $0.1 no matter the amount transacted, which means that you can potentially send a transaction worth $100,000,000 with less than $1 fee for a fraction of the time it would take banks and centralized financial institutions to execute the transaction, the best part of it is that all transactions can be viewed in the open ledger of the blockchain and every single detail of the transaction would be transparent.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The exploit we experienced has some unprecedented impact on the platform and one of the greatest impact is the issue of trust, we don’t trust the data contained in the platform because a preliminary check indicated that some data has been changed in the server level, some accounts has been planted and some existing account data has been changed, and while we have been trying to purge the system is such data, some are hidden so deep and are so mixed with existing data that we can’t even identify them, we honestly would not like to pay a refund to an account that was planted in the system.
Unfortunately this means that there might be some inconvenience on the part of our esteemed members because the only fool-proof solution would be to implement KYC verification and an additional verification method, this would ensure beyond reasonable doubt that if any member passes these two verification levels, there would be no doubt whatsoever about their legitimacy and they would be entitled to a refund.
We are just starting to realize the kind of damage, distrust and misinformation that has been done to our community by our silence over the past few months and we are doing everything to regain that trust again and this is the first step in that direction and even though we know that it would be a difficult process, we are determined to take the right path in making you whole again by refunding what you have lost before we reopen the platform.
THE MIGRATION STEPS
We are determined to avoid the mistakes of the past and on this note, we have obtained the services of a reputable cyber security expert to advice us on the security of our refund portal, unfortunately we cannot name them at the moment to avoid embroiling them in the ongoing legal proceedings against us.
Additionally, all information provided would be securely encrypted on the server level, this is to ensure that every information submitted never falls into the wrong hands. We compiled all the mistakes and issues in our platform that might have directly or indirectly contributed to the exploit and we have made sure that a similar incident never repeats itself.
The steps required for the refund program are as follows:
- EMAIL SUBMISSION: All members are required to submit their Email Address, Invitation Code, Amount Invested and a screenshot of their dashboard to [email protected].
- REGISTRATION: The second step of the refund program is to register in the refund portal.
- KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER: All members are required to complete the Know Your Customer(KYC) process. This is also where you specify the wallet you want your refund sent to, The review process takes a maximum of 48 hours.
- ACTIVATION DEPOSIT: Once your KYC is approved, you are required to make a security deposit of 30% of your refund amount, each account would be thoroughly vetted and if they are found to be real accounts by a real member, their refund would be processed and the 30% deposit would be available for withdrawal too.
- WITHDRAWAL: Head over to the withdrawal section in the refund portal and place a withdrawal request, this would automatically be processed to the wallet you specified during the KYC process, withdrawals are automatically processed and disbursed within 45 minutes of your request. You can choose your preferred Stablecoins for withdrawal.
