South Korea's Biggest Messaging App to Launch Crypto Wallet
The biggest messaging app in South Korea is launching a crypto wallet by Samsung for its 44 million users, according to fnnews, a mainstream financial media outlet in South Korea.
Kakao is the biggest internet conglomerate in South Korea. The company will will integrate a crypto wallet into its messaging app to enable casual users to use digital assets on a daily basis.
Kakao has raised an estimated $90 million to develop its own blockchain network called Klatyn, and the crypto wallet may be one way to introduce the blockchain to the public.
Samsung recently unveiled an app on its flagship phone the Galaxy S10 that can make payments to merchants, digitally sign transactions, and store and transfer crypto.
