Crypto Exchange Accidentally Airdrops Bitcoin

South Korean crypto exchange Coinnest accidentally airdropped more than $5 million in bitcoin and other cryptos to users.

A computer error caused the incident during a scheduled airdrop for We Game Tokens (WGT).

Some users received both crypto and Korean won. Coinnest reported that about half the won was returned as of January 19.

After the error, some traders who received bitcoin instead of WGT sold immediately, causing a flash crash for bitcoin down to $50.
