Brazilian football team Atletico Mineiro created their own crypto - the Galo Coin - for fans to buy tickets and merchandise and to enjoy deep discounts.

Galo Coins are pegged to the Brazilian Real coin, and they can be exchanged with Ethereum. Users must purchase 50 Galo Coins to use the token.

The world of football is embracing crypto, with a few clubs in Europe making their own coins as well as stars from Ronaldhino to Messi endorsing tokens too. Gibraltar United began paying its players in crypto earlier this year.

The simplicity of the Galo Coin along with the popularity of football worldwide may support mass adoption for crypto.
