Pension funds do invest in cryptocurrency. But not directly.
South Korea has not banned trading in cryptocurrencies after all and for this simple reason. The National Pension Fund owns a large share in all the major cryptoexchanges in South Korea. All the investments have been carried through two different venture capital funds, but that's not the point.
In Canada, one of the largest pension funds OMERS launches a new company Ethereum Capital. It is aimed at attracting funding in the amount of 50 million Canadian dollars. The project also included Purpose Investment, a brokerage supported by OMERS.
The conclusion? Even pension funds are interested in cryptocurrency.
