My wife and I came across an ad on Ebay in Feb 2014 about a company selling shares in a Bitcoin Mining company with promised returns.

The company's name was BitFish Group and the person selling then, was none other than Matt Copper.

After we purchased the two 5 BMTP, one for me and one for my wife, an email of confirmation arrived in the inbox with additional request of 0.08 BTC for these 2 certificates, and we proceeded with the payment that same minute.

Once the BTC was confirmed the two electronic 5 BMTP was send to the email with an attachment of the actual certificates, the we were directed to a very professional site with names listed from various investors and the value of their certificates purchased and percentage performance for each investment over time.

It wasn't long before they closed shop and disappeared with everyone's investment, as i tried to contact them any way I could everything was undeliverable.

Since the site BitFishGroup is no longer active, we can only explain the website design, even though a few traces of photos and a few screenshots are still around, thankfully after the purchase, we decided to download the PDF file containing the business plan and how these investments really worked.

They also claimed to make all their transaction through Bitcoin.org

The name they chose, Bitcoin Mining Pool and Trust was nothing but....a Bitcoin Mining Pool and Scam.

Fancy websites, pretty Logos and professional PDF files attracted many I'm sure, to the scam known as BitFishGroup.

problem is they keep appearing under different sites with different promises.

This time the company they are working under and from, is called Quoruum, with an impressive team and staff, but Matt Copper seems to always be around somehow better looking than ever, and hasn't aged a bit.

It's obvious and quite possible, that maybe none of these characters are who they claim to be, and if so, these people need to find out, if that is the case and they used other pictures found on the net and use them to lure people in with fancy names and pretty faces, Matt could pass for a GQ model, but in Whois search of these sites ownership, we get an individual out of Florida by the name Martin Bueno, who is a partner in Quoruum.

Then we went a little further and called the phone number provided and somebody identified himself as Erick Valdez, then to continue our investigation, we came across an interesting article about a $ 3 Million scam that took place in 2009, where Erick Valdez was found guilty in Miami Florida where 9 other people were involved, it definitely sounds a lot like our guy.

Sorry about the long post caused by photo uploads, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Besides, there's a possibility where they might erase, or close their site and this will remain as proof.

This Scam has affected me a lot over the years, taking in consideration my current financial situation, and in 2014 I already understood the potential investment in Bitcoin and what it could bring in the future.

While investors saw opportunity, so did Scammers , and Bitcoin opened a lot of windows for fraudsters and scam artists, leaving investors with shattered dreams and a sour taste in their mouth, by making promises of great returns but only sold the label.

I encourage everyone that has any current information on these criminals to come forward, also those that fell prey to these predators to join forces and find legal ways to claim what is rightfully yours.

Or at least share this message and let other know about their practices, since I am positive they are always after the new scam under a different name.

You can make a difference.

Thank you for your time.

I was scammed too--and i have contact info for one of the founders---working on a new venture with some of the same players--- any chance we can round up bitfish victims and file a class action?
