Below are the rules I would recommend you follow if you are wanting to survive in the crypto-currency world.

Rule 1 : Do not invest all your money in 1/2 coins as this increases the risk of you losing money.
Rule 2 : Buy low, Sell at top with order book
Rule 3 : Do not panic sells/Buys as you may think you're trying to save money but in the long term your losing money!
Rule 4 : Do not be greedy - as this may increasing the risk of you losing money.
Rule 5 : Buy At Rumours, Sell at News
