Lessons of 2017?

in #crypto4 years ago

If you've been in crypto long enough you'll remember the great crash of 2017 (well 2018 really).

Cryptocurrencies had been going stratospheric, making money was 'shooting fish in a barrel' - buy any coin and watch it go up. It all seemed too easy, and it was.

The euphoria didn't last and a long cold winter followed for crypto. Really, the market only got going again in the back half of 2020, a good 24 months of consolidation at lower prices. Those who held all they had (hodl) did indeed come out the otherside better than before. But how many would have stuck to their guns over this period?

I know my resolve was tested, and while I didn't liquidate the majority of my BTC, I did a significant stake (20/20 hindsight).

That begs the question where are we now? We've had some crazy gains in the last 12 months, are we seeing another major pullback which will take years to recover or shooting for ATH again soon?

Are you buying the dip, or waiting if it turns out to be another 50% lower? Share your thoughts.
